The Foundation Stone was laid on 25th October 1958 by Archbishop John Henry King and the opening of the church and the first Mass and consecration took place on 6th December 1959. In remembering we must positively move forward into a new era here at Christ the King Church, Whitley.

The Parish has coped with many changes over the years, but the parish community that is Christ the King Parish, has taken all in its stride and continues to grow and go from strength to strength.

Each subsequent Parish Priest has made changes and we thank all of them for their devotion and endeavours on our behalf Father Patrick Madden is the 8th Parish Priest
